The woman was crossing the road at the junction of Oakleigh Road North and Oakleigh Park South, in Whetstone, at 4.15pm yesterday.
Her condition is believed to be serious but not life threatening.
The bus driver stopped at the scene, but has not been arrested.
No passengers on the bus were injured in the incident.
Access to the junction from Oakleigh Park South and Myddleton Park was closed yesterday for traffic light upgrades, but temporary lights were installed for pedestrians to cross the road.
