A teenager is one step closer to fulfilling her dreams of becoming a make-up artist after an online appeal helped her pay her course fees within 48 hours.

Rochelle Scott, of Hogarth Road, Edgware, appealed to the fundraising platform All Chip In to help her pay for a course that would enable her to gain the skills needed to become a professional make-up artist.

The 19-year-old posted a video on the campaign website, expressing her passion to pursue a makeup career. She was funded within 48 hours of submission, after receiving widespread support from her community.

In her appeal video Ms Scott said: “I have always loved doing make-up on myself or on other people.

“I first realised I was really passionate about make-up when I started watching YouTube tutorials, following bloggers and just reading up about it.

“As I am self-taught I really want to go into a make-up class and finally get a proper inside look. I actually want to be taught and get some tricks that could benefit my career.”

Ms Scott, who now attends a course at MiNK make-up school in London every Friday evening, has set the bar for future youngsters who will use the fundraising website.

The founders of All chip In recognise that youth unemployment is a long-standing problem in society today and look to help young people throughout London just like Rochelle, pursue their goals.

All Chip In’s co-founder Sibel Suleyman said: “We want to bring communities in the UK together to help young people pursue their passions and get further in life.”

All Chip In is launching fully early in 2015. Pre-registrations can be made at www.allchipin.org
