Little elves stuffed stockings with toys, sweets and gifts as part of a children’s hospice’s campaign.

Pupils from Manor Lodge School, in Shenley, gave nearly 200 stockings filled with Christmas presents to Noah’s Ark Hospice, based in Victors Way, Barnet.

The gifts were donated as part of the hospice’s Make a Memory campaign and will be handed out to the children the hospice supports, as well as their siblings, at a pantomime outing later this month.

Sarah Latchford, community fundraiser for the charity, said: “It’s absolutely wonderful to see children taking an interest in giving to other children who are in need.

“This is the second year the school has donated Christmas gift stockings to Noah’s Ark and we are really thrilled to have their continuing support.”

Each stocking includes a mix of toys, sweets and a gift.

Mr Mason, head of Year 3 at Manor Lodge School, said: “It’s great for us to get the children involved with this appeal because it’s about learning as well as giving.

“It’s very rewarding so see children thinking about others, especially at this time of year.”
