A 29-year-old who has multiple sclerosis is determined to prove that she is “still beautiful” despite her condition.

Rebecca Saady, of Hendon Lane, Finchley, was diagnosed three years ago and since then, has poured all her efforts into raising awareness of the condition.

As part of MS Awareness Week, which runs from April 27 to May 3, Rebecca took part in a photo shoot to show how the disease can strike anyone, of any age.

She said: “MS is an invisible thing and I am trying to raise awareness to show that not everyone who has it uses a wheelchair and a stick all the time.

“My photoshoot is risqué but not sordid and I wore my jumper, ‘Made Strong’, to show exactly how I’ve handled my diagnosis.

“My neurologist says I’m young to have this. It strikes you when you’re in the prime of your life and you don’t expect it.”

The photos were taken by her boyfriend, Bryan, who she has been with for eight years.

Rebecca was diagnosed in May 2012 after her vision became blurred and she lost sight in one eye.

Her symptoms now vary from day to day, but the neurological condition often leaves her exhausted and the simplest of tasks can days to recover.

Before her diagnosis, she was working in an office as a PA - but the illness meant she was forced to give up her job.

But she continued to study for her degree in nutrition and has now launched company Embrace Nutrition to encourage healthy eating.

She added: “I do use a stick from time to time and I’ve recently come out of a relapse, which has been hard but I take each day as it comes.

“I hope this helps other people living with MS realise they are strong and beautiful.”
