Picket lines will be set up across Barnet this week as part of a dispute over the outsourcing of council services.
Unison members working for Barnet Borough Council will take strike action on Thursday and Friday at North London Business Park, Mill Hill Depot, North Finchley Library and Chipping Barnet Library.
Barnet Council is exploring other options for delivering council services including libraries, children’s centres, street cleaning and school meals to save money.
Barnet Unison claims that this means more than 80 per cent of council staff could end up working for a different employer, and that members want to remain employees of the council.
