A programme to help people recovering from drug and alcohol abuse get into work will return to Barnet next month.

Run by the charity Westminster Drug Project (WDP), the ten-week Giving Something Back into Work course will provide education and training for up to 180 people.

More than 50 people have graduated from the programme since September 2014, and most have ended up in jobs or volunteering positions, the charity said.

Supported by the Big Lottery Fund, it will take place in St Mary's Community Church Hall, Hendon Lane Finchley, and starts on September 22.

There will be two sessions a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm.

A WDP spokesman said: “We look forward to another year of supporting the brave Barnet residents who have made the decision to break free from dependency and transform their lives.”
