A HIT and run victim says the ordeal has been a “shock to the system.”
Julies Sherington, a driver for PPH Coaches, was driving his mini bus from Whetstone to his home in St Albans when it broke down at the junction of Drury Road, Barnet, last Thursday.
The 62-year-old was waiting for a roadside mechanic at around 6.55pm when he was knocked down to the ground by a car speeding along the junction.
He hurt his foot and doctors have now advised him to stay off work for a week.
He said: “It was a shock to the system. The car hit me and took me to the floor. I heard the wheel spin but all I could think about was my foot.
“I didn’t take the registration number because he sped off too fast. I wanted to go home. I am hoping someone saw it happen and can help me.”
The driver of a red car saw what happened and stopped to ask if he was okay, but a shocked Mr Sherington told her he was.
He is now appealing for witnesses to help trace the culprit.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
