The star of Dad’s Army will raise a toast to the Queen at a royal tea party in Finchley.
Frank Williams, best known for his role as the vicar in the popular wartime sitcom, will be a guest of honour at a party to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday held at St Mary-at-Finchley on June 26.
The event, which starts at 3pm, will feature family activities as well as an exhibition showcasing Royal memorabilia dating back from the Victorian era.
Organiser Lynn Radnedge described the event as “a high class tea with waitress service and live music to suit all tastes.
She said: “We will have classical, jazz and pop singers/ musicians who will be performing patriotic and fun pieces, from Elgar and Vaughan Williams to the Beatles and the Kinks.”
The festivities will finish with some of the Queen’s favourite songs and a royal procession.
To buy a ticket, which cost £10 for adults and £5 for children and include a welcome drink, contact Lynn Radnedge on 020 3015 2302 or 07977222708.
