Southern rail is set to reinstate more than 100 daily services which were dropped earlier this year.

Nearly all of the 119 reintroduced trains are in London, and are hoped will provide a more reliable service for commuters.

The trains will run from September 5, and include 26 services on the West London line between Clapham and Watford Junction/Milton Keynes.

Other services being brought back include “metro” services in south London, Sutton to Streatham via Wimbledon, and Guildford to Leatherhead.

Southern is locked in an ongoing dispute with its guards, with the latest 48-strike due to start on September 7.

The rail company says it plans to “steadily” reintroduce services across the remaining southern counties.
