Five teenage boys have been charged with the murder of Stefan Valentine Balaban in Edgware.

Stefan, 19, died in Whitchurch Lane after he was stabbed on Friday (July 28).

Police were called to the scene shortly after 1am, and attempted to save Stefan’s life along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A post-mortem examination has given Stefan’s cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Four 16-year-old boys and one aged 17 were charged with murder yesterday (August 2) and are now set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today.

All five were arrested following morning raids across north London earlier this week.

Police said that Stefan’s family had been informed of the charges and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
