Smoke filled a busy street as fire spread to two floors of a popular pub.

The blaze affected both the first and second floors of the Tally Ho pub in High Road, North Finchley, today (February 8).

Firefighters were called at 11.05am, with one video shared online showing flames coming from the second floor of the building, while another video showed thick smoke in the street as people looked on.

The London Ambulance Service treated one person at the scene for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported at the time.

High Road was closed one way from Ballards Lane at Tally Ho Corner to Woodhouse Road and Kingsway. There was also congestion to the nearby Sainsburys supermarket and back along the other side to Ballards Lane.

Several bus routes were diverted, including the 13, 125, 134, 221, 263, 383, 460 and SL10.
