Police have asked the public for help as part of a probe into the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a young girl.

Adam Baillie, 38, of Springway, Harrow, appeared in Willesden Magistrates' Court on Monday (April 22) charged with one count of sexual assault of a child.

He was also charged with one count of kidnap and one count of assault (ABH).

The charges relate to an incident in Springway at around 3pm on April 19 involving a girl under the age of 13, Scotland Yard said.

Acting Detective Inspector Neal Heffernan has now appealed for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.

Acting DI Heffernan added: “I know that this matter has caused a lot of concern in the community and that it is being discussed on various social media and group chats.

“At the heart of this is a young child. Their family not only have a right to privacy, but the child is also granted anonymity under the law so we ask people to respect this.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101, quoting reference CAD4666/19Apr.
