A very busy day for the Club with 7 visiting teams including a Cup Final and a Finchleians’ home game against Ibis. Thanks to all those who helped out, particularly Neil McLelland and Terry Boyce who managed to juggle 10 teams smoothly through 6 changing rooms. A good day on the bar though.

The 2nds needed a win and overwhelmed a Polytechnic side who were struggling for players. This brings them alongside a number of other teams and they need, at the very least a win, against the bottom side Salesians next Saturday, and then a tough game to finish against West Wickham 2 days later on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm KO). Let’s get some support down to the Club for what is a traditional last day fight for survival (3 in the last 4 years?).

3bog had a tough game against their only rivals for 3rd place and firmly put them in their place – 4th! They confirmed their position as the highest placed EBOG side in the League but the top two in Division 1 are too far away to catch. Two more opportunist goals from Ed Dixon and a superbly crafted final goal rewarding a surging run from Dave Flannery.

The 5ths were the only casualties of the day with an extraordinary scoreline suggesting end of season light-headiness abandoning all defence. They were 3-0 up as well and Dan Caskie also saved a penalty to keep it in single figures! A disappointing end to a good season of which Sam Warne can generally be proud.

After their victory against Vamps 7ths in midweek, the 6ths met a much stronger looking Vamps 8ths and worked hard to hold them to a draw. They are now comfortable, however, in a mid-table position. Congratulations to Steve Down and team and a crucial contribution from Adam Callow subbing as Captain a week or so ago.

After recent calamities the 7ths stormed back with a convincing win in the final game which puts them in 9th place but more crucially 3 points clear of a rejuvenated 8ths. The latter were asked to kick off at midday because of shortage of pitches at Parkonians. Captain Matt Freeman was unable to raise a side at short notice for a meet time of 10am!
