I have voted Conservative all my life.
The councillors who voted for the extremely large increases in the salaries of the cabinet and leader of Barnet Council are the rotten apples at the bottom of the Conservative Party barrel.
They seem to have turned a deaf ear to David Cameron’s appeal for everyone to cut back and economise in an attempt to get our country back on a sound economic footing.
Therefore they should be expelled from the Conservative Party.
Is it too much to hope for another local election in Barnet, so the ratepayers may have the opportunity to choose councillors who put the borough of Barnet’s interests before considering the size of their salaries?
