Saracens have bolstered their back-row options with the addition of Italian international Samuela Vunisa for the 2015/16 season.

The 26-year-old was born in Fiji but has won three caps for Italy since making his debut in 2014 and has agreed to join the Men in Black from Pro 12 side Zebre ahead of next term.

Director of rugby Mark McCall told the club website: "Samu has clearly made a strong impression in his appearances for Italy and his strong running and ball carrying ability are valuable assets in the modern game.

"We look forward to welcoming him and his wife to the club in July.”

Vunisa, who has previously represented Taranaki and Calvisano, enthused: "I’m really looking forward to the move. I’ve heard lot of good things about Saracens, about how they treat their players and how strong a side they are.

“Last season they got to two finals and played some fantastic rugby. I’m really looking forward to linking up with such a strong squad and hopefully, improving as a player in a new environment.

“It’s going to be a big experience, and it’s a great challenge and I can’t wait to start a fresh chapter in the UK for such a big club. It’s a massive honour and a great opportunity for me and my family.”
