Rhys Williams insists London Broncos will not underestimate Whitehaven after losing to the side earlier in the season.

Williams is targeting four wins from London’s final four games as they attempt to finish in the Championship play-off places.

But after Sunday’s crushing 46-22 loss at Halifax RLFC, Williams has stressed the importance of not taking the Cumbrian side lightly when they visit The Hive.

“The loss against Halifax is disappointing and we have to move forwards,” Williams told the club website. “We’ve got four games to go and we really need to win them all to put ourselves in a position to finish in the top four.”

In a tight contest in March the Broncos lost 18-16 to Whitehaven, so Williams knows the task will not be a straightforward one when they meet again in Edgware.

“We’ve got some tough games coming up,” the winger explained. “Whitehaven this weekend will be tough, they beat us at home earlier in the season and we’re not taking them lightly.

“We’ve got the likes of Dewsbury, Workington and Sheffield, which will have a bearing on where we finish but we’re concentrating on this weekend.

“We didn’t turn up at the races on Saturday and on our day we’re more than capable of beating Halifax but credit to them they came out with more enthusiasm and wanted it. We need to be more focused and know our roles better.”
