London Broncos hooker James Cunningham says it would mean the world to the squad and coach Andrew Henderson to compete for the Championship Shield after the regular season ended in defeat.
The Broncos brought the curtain down on their first Championship season with a 22-14 loss at home to Sheffield Eagles on Sunday.
But by virtue of finishing seventh they will now compete in the Super 8s for the Championship Shield.
The eight Championship teams who did not make the top four carry their points forward and play each other once more.
And the top four teams will then enter a play-off for the Championship Shield whilst the bottom two teams will be relegated to League One.
Speaking to the club website, Cunningham said: “It would mean the world to the boys to reach the final of the shield, and to Hendo too.
“The amount of work he’s putting in and the work that’s going on behind the scenes at the club I think we deserve something to show for it.
“I think there’s a belief down here that we can get something out of the Super 8s now,” he added.
