Wingate & Finchley advanced to the Isthmian League Cup third round by coming from behind to claim a staggering 5-4 win at home to Grays Athletic on Tuesday.
Simon Lane's side appeared to be in cruise control after 17 minutes thanks to a pair of Mark Goodman strikes.
However, Daniel Burnett-Williams got Grays back into the contest soon after, only for Billy Healey to restore the hosts' two-goal advantage.
Wingate ought to have had the game wrapped up at that stage but Grays staged a remarkable comeback with goals from Glen Little and Bradley Maltese making it 3-3 before half time.
Maltese scored for a second time in the 62nd minute to put the Essex side ahead for the first time, 4-3.
But the scoring was far from over and efforts in the final 15 minutes from Lee Barney and Healey saw Wingate advance in dramatic fashion.
On Saturday a late equaliser denied ten-man Wingate all three points at East Thurrock United in a 1-1 draw.
Visiting Wingate went in front after 34 minutes when Karl Oliyide let fly from 16 yards following a neat interchange of play with Alfie Bartram.
And the visitors looked set for maximum points until, with three minutes remaining, the Rocks drew level as Tommy Wraight powered home a header from Ben Wood's cross.
And in injury time, Blues' Ahmet Rifat was lost to a red card for an off-the-ball incident.
Wingate host Harrow Borough on Saturday in the Isthmian Premier Division.
