Barnet skipper Andy Yiadom has joined Barnsley on a two year deal after leaving the Hive on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old made 177 appearances for the Bees during his four year stay and found the net seven times throughout the 2015/16 season.

Yiadom’s arrival at Oakwell has been well received by the League One club with head coach Paul Heckingbottom speaking glowingly of the defender’s qualities.

He told the Barnsley website: “We are really pleased Andy has chosen us as the next step in his career.

“He’s an athletic and exciting player with experience, but also has his best years ahead of him at 24 years of age.”

Yiadom added: “I am very pleased to come to a club like Barnsley. They’ve done very well and I’m just looking forward to getting out there and doing my best for the club.

“I know they play attacking and exciting football, that’s what I’m looking forward to doing.”
