Barnet have retained the services of Curtis Weston and Sam Togwell after the pair both signed new contracts.

Weston’s deal will keep him at the Hive for two more years, while Togwell has extended his stay until the end of the 2016/17 season.

The news delighted dynamic midfielder Weston who is looking forward to adding to his 159 appearances for the club.

He told the Barnet website: “I’m very pleased to have extended my stay at the Hive.

“I’ve been here a few years now – I’m settled at the club and I’m enjoying it.

“There’s a good group of players and all the staff are nice and friendly, so I’m very happy to be staying at Barnet.

"It’s a good working environment, and the togetherness everyone has is really strong – especially after our promotion in 2014-15.”

Meanwhile, Togwell, who scored his first goal for the club against Leyton Orient last month, is eager to build on the memories which have seen him move up the divisions with the Bees since joining in 2014.

He said: “I’ve enjoyed my two years here so far, so I’m happy that this new deal has been sorted so quickly.

“Barnet are a good club - I think I’ve played well and that I’ve helped the youngsters that are coming through at the moment.

“I believe that the team can do well next season, after we finished the last campaign strongly. I think that showed us that we can kick on and push up the league, if we start better than last year. “Overall I feel that I was quite consistent last season. I started the season well and finished it off well too.

“If I can just improve that middle section next year and keep my end-of-season form up, I believe that I’ll have a good 2016-17.”
