Barnet golfer Andrew Johnston finished in a tie for 54th place at the US Open.
Johnston ended up on 13-over-par at Oakmont in Pennsylvania as he competed in his first major in America.
He got off to a tough start after an opening five-over-par 75 in the first round which was delayed by thunderstorms.
The North Middlesex Golf Club member produced a strong response in the second round after mixing four birdies and three bogeys in a one-under-par 69 to make the cut.
Johnston shot 75 in the third round after only managing one birdie compared with six bogeys.
In his final round, the Open de Espana winner shot 74 after two birdies and six bogeys.
The tournament was won by American Dustin Johnson after he finished on four-under-par.
'Beef' won plenty of admirers during the tournament and was given a big ovation by the home fans after completing his final round.
The popular golfer will get the chance to win more fans next week when he competes at the World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone.
